Matthews Drive

Tarrytown, Austin, TX

Tucked away by Lake Austin in Tarrytown, the Matthews Drive Residence exemplifies quality design within tight parameters on a remodeled landscape. The client's wishes were to have a design inspired by modern Japanese gardens that can be appreciated from the street, but also ample privacy to enjoy the key features of the project. One of the largest challenges of this project is the size and narrowness of the lot and accommodating zoning regulations. The procession from the street includes a gravel exploration path through Japanese Maples to a well balanced greenspace upon entry to the home. The project's key features shine when you enter into the backyard, featuring an outdoor kitchen covered by a custom-built pergola, a floating ipe bench with a gas fireplace, and a custom built Leuders plunge pool pool fit with a floating ipe deck. The entirety of the project can truly be appreciated when sitting on the ipe bench, observing the greenspace, the fireplace, the outdoor kitchen, the plunge pool, and the custom designed fence framing the hill country sunset.
